“Shall I compare thee to a Summer’s day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate” – William Shakespeare

Hello Summer Brides!
We’ve got a full summer schedule here at The Chetremon, so I’d like to offer some summer wedding tips for our upcoming brides.

With the slower pace of the season, summer weddings are always a popular choice for our couples.

Along with the beautiful weather, the season also offers them the opportunity to take full advantage of both the indoor and outdoor space that the venue provides, allowing them to capture the beauty that surrounds us here on the grounds.

That being said, outdoor ceremonies do require a bit of thought. Our outdoor ceremony site is in full sun in the afternoon so here are a few tips to make your guests more comfortable, and to let them know you’re thinking of them.

Weather can be a very important factor in summer at our facility. Our outdoor ceremony site is in the full afternoon sun, so consider what it will take to keep you, your bridal party, as well as your guests comfortable.

Providing water bottles to keep everyone hydrated is a thoughtful gesture, and if you’re considering programs, there are many program fan options and water bottle labels available on the internet as well as templates for our DIY brides. These would be a nice touches to have while enjoying the ceremony.

Outdoor ceremonies are no doubt beautiful, but the sun is a definite factor. Keep bridal party attire light and cool.

Groomsmen –

Being dressed in dark suits, especially if you’ve chosen a jacket for the guys, will become very warm very quickly. Consider a linen option in ivory or beige, or even skip the jacket altogether and opt for just a vest or suspenders and bright summer color bowties.

How about a light canvas slip-on shoe for comfort and a great fedora? Straw hats are trendy, lightweight, and comfortable and they offer great protection from the sun. As well, they come in a wide variety of color and style options.

Wearing sunglasses is always an option to block the harsh light and can quickly be popped into a pocket for pictures. Just remember, if you do choose to go with this option make sure everyone is on the same page and wears them so wedding party pictures are more uniform.

Bridesmaids –

Although most bridesmaid dresses are always lightweight and cool, always consider light colors or floral patterns. Really trending now is the crop top style dress. I love them for oooh the possibilities! An ankle length or hi-lo hemline can be a cooler and more comfortable option as well.

Needless to say, sandals are a must for warm summer weather. Just keep the color consistent for all of your girls and they will look great even with a shorter dress style.

Updo hairstyles are also a great choice for summer, and adding an elegant piece of hair jewelry will always be the right choice!

#3 - Take Advantage

Take full advantage of all The Chetremon has to offer and build on top of it.

Using both our indoor and outdoor space is a must for summer weddings. Consider adding some games for your guests to enjoy. With the large patio space that is avialable here, adding outdoor games for your young (and young at heart) guests are great for cocktail hour and the reception.

Weather permitting, consider moving your dance floor onto the patio. With the large overhead doors that allow easy access from the venue to the patio, there is more than adequate space for you and your guests to enjoy the evening dancing the night away under a beautiful starry sky!
